Without human blood the virus mutates; they can't think, they just want blood. Doesn't matter what kind-- and vampire blood just makes it worse. That one had been chewing on itself. Took maybe a week to get that bad.

Nah. Kills off the brain at that point, nothing you can do to fix it. They're tough, too. Strong and hungry and not much else.
